Leah Aron has worked with the practice as an administrative assistant in charge of accounts payable, filing, scheduling, and other administrative duties since 2019. Leah has years of experience working as an executive assistant and as a personal assistant. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Experimental Theater Wing.

Jolie Breeden is an independent editing consultant who has assisted Paula A. Madrid & Associates since 2018 in writing, compiling, and editing psychological evaluations used in forensic cases. Jolie has more than 20 years of experience in professional and academic editing, previously worked as a journalist for the Rocky Mountain News and other news and broadcast outlets.

Liz Gromosaik, LCSW received her Masters degree form New York University's Silver School of Social Work. She has also trained at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health, a Psychoanalytic Institute and specializes in addiction, using a harm-reduction model. Liz has been an associate at Paula A. Madrid & Associates since 2018. Liz prides herself in providing a warm, supportive, nonjudgemental environment to help her patients gain insight into themselves and their relationships. Liz has over ten years of experience treating individuals suffering depression and anxiety.

Emily Hodges has been working remotely at the practice since 2011 doing administrative work and copy editing. She graduated from New York University with bachelors and master’s degrees in Music.

Dr. Scott Lloyd, Ph.D., BCN, BCB is has a doctoral degree in Health Psychology. He specializes in using third-wave CBT therapies such as ACT and DBT to treat anxiety, panic, phobias, to solve solve interpersonal conflicts, and boost relationship and career satisfaction. Dr. Lloyd is certified in neurotherapy and biofeedback and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Dr. Lloyd has been an associate at the practice since 2020.

Julia Padilla joined the practice in March 2022 as a Spanish /English bilingual administrative assistant. She is also attending City College of New York where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education. Julia has experience in customer service, sales, as a patient care representative, and also obtained a diploma from the Bronx Studio School for Writers and Artists in 2014. Julia describes herself as being passionate about Is passionate about reading and education and aspires to be a great educator one day. Julia Padilla

Alexis Pellek started working with the practice as a proofreader and editor in 2022. She works as a freelance writer with a focus on mental health and healthcare. Alexis received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University and a master's in journalism from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Maria Scigliano, MSW, has worked with the practice since 2015 conducting research, writing and editing professional presentation abstracts, organizing evidence and summaries for psychosocial reports, including those on custodial, sex offender risk, asylum, VAWA, and U visa evaluations. She received a bachelor's degree from Boston University in 2009 and a master's in social work from Columbia University in 2012. She has authored and co-authored several publications and presentations on disaster response and health barriers to learning.

Victoria Rodriguez, LMHC has been with the practice since 2019. Victoria has a a Masters degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling. She provides psychotherapy to young adults and adults and specializes on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the most effective treatment in depression, anxiety, and many other conditions. Victoria is fluent in Spanish and is able to provide psychotherapy in English and Spanish.

Kimberly Vantine is an independent reviewer who has worked with Paula Madrid & Associates since 2019 in compiling and editing psychological evaluations used in forensic cases remotely. Vantine received her paralegal certificate from Adams State University in Colorado and also at law firm specializing in complex real estate transactions, corporation formation, and intellectual property.

Michael Winters has worked as a proofreader for the practice since 2018. Michael obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University Maryland in 2011 and a master’s degree in general psychology at the New School for Social Research in 2016. Michael has completed some work toward his doctoral degree in psychology and will be continuing his studies soon.

Elke Weesjes, PhD, has been an associate at Paula A. Madrid & Associates since early 2014 where she has assisted with writing psychological evaluations and researching the medical, educational, psychological, and legal conditions of countries relevant to the practice’s cases. She received her master’s in history from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2004 and her Ph.D. in contemporary history from the University of Sussex (UK) in 2012. In addition to her position at the practice, she is an adjunct assistant professor in European history and Holocaust studies at Kingsborough Community College and a visiting research fellow at the International Institute for Social History in Amsterdam. Her work has been published by outlets including Children, Youth and Environments, The Psychologist, Twentieth Century Communism - A journal of International History, Journal of Gender Studies, Biografie Bulletin, Buzzfeed, ABC News, The Natural Hazards Observer, AllAfrica, and Disaster Research. Her forthcoming book Communist Movements in the West during the Cold War - Childhood and Identity Formation (Amsterdam University Press 2020) as well as the majority of her publication record share a common methodology; understanding culture, identity, and trauma through oral history.
